Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies (Copycat Recipe)
Ingredients
- 1 C softened butter
- ¾ C light brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 C all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 C semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- Optional: Add a small amount of mint OR orange extract to the melted chocolate (about ½ tsp)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. (300°F for dark pans.)
- In a bowl, cream together the 1 C butter and sugar.
- Add vanilla extract and flour; mix until smooth.
- Shape level teaspoons of dough into log shapes.
- Place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 17 to 19 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.
- Microwave chocolate chips and 1 Tbsp butter for 2 minutes; stir until smooth.
- Spread chocolate on flat side of cookie and top with the other.
